ABOUT
Chris Littler is a writer, composer, and director best known for the podcast musical 36 QUESTIONS and writing and directing select episodes of the LIMETOWN podcast. He is one of very few people to have two separate audio fiction shows go to number one on the Apple charts. He is a founding member of the art rock project CHAMBER BAND - where he first met his frequent collaborator Ellen Winter.
His work has appeared in The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, Playbill, Wired, The Guardian, and Marie Claire. He has presented as an industry expert at South by Southwest, the Austin Film Festival, On Air Festival, and thrice performed as part of Ars Nova's ANTFest. He has been chosen to attend the prestigious SPACE on Ryder Farm, the Rhinebeck Musical Theater Writing Retreat, and spent a year under commission through Ars Nova's Maker's Lab.
In 2015, Chris started his career in podcasting with the Limetown podcast - widely considered to be the dawn of a new age of dramatic podcasts. To date, he has written two episodes of the show (104 and 201) and directed the majority of the second season. In 2018, Chris branched into television writing by co-writing an episode of Limetown for Facebook Watch - now available on Peacock.
Chris began working with Ellen Winter in 2013, when she joined his Brooklyn-based art-rock band, Chamber Band. Together, the two co-authored over 30 songs and went on three national tours. In 2016, the two were approached to try their hand at creating the world's first "Broadway-caliber podcast musical". The result, 36 Questions - starring Jonathan Groff and Jessie Shelton - became a cult classic and spawned a generation of audio-only musicals.
In 2020, Chris teamed up with Ellen again to release her debut album, every feeling i've ever felt. They followed up the success of that project with her second album, YIKES, in 2024.
He now lives in Salisbury, Connecticut with his wife and frequent collaborator Kelly Tieger, their son and daughter, and their rescue dog, Tuck.
